Pilbara Aboriginal Health Alliance is proud to have facilitated the expansion of the Tom Price Kidney Dialysis Unit (TPKDU) Aboriginal Reference Council into the newly formed Hamersley Ranges Community Health Aboriginal Reference Group (HR-CHARG).

This broader advisory body brings together Traditional Owners, Elders, and community representatives from across the Hamersley Ranges, including Ms. Paula White and Ms. Diane Walker from the RIC Subcommittee, to guide both the Caring on Country Project and the TPKDU initiative.

The evolution of HR-CHARG represents a major step forward in ensuring local voices shape local health outcomes, reflecting the deep connection between kidney health, cultural wellbeing, and Country. By uniting the two projects under a single community-led framework, HR-CHARG is helping to embed a culturally grounded, place-based approach to health planning and service design in the region.

Moving forward, PAHA will continue to strengthen the HR-CHARG membership and engagement structure, ensuring the group remains representative and responsive to the evolving priorities of the Hamersley Ranges communities.
